Many will remember the Ford GT40 race car, which was the inspiration for the new Ford GT90 Concept Car. This new Ford is an aggressive futuristic styled racer that has already won the hearts of many Ford fans all around the world. The technological advances that are available today have influenced the crafting of the Ford GT90 to make it a superior and capable concept car. With this stylish machine, Ford has put itself in the forefront of its class. Ford ahs truly outdone itself with the GT
90 concept car. Technology and modern engineering coupled with creative genius have led Ford to construct one of the most advanced and unique concept cars in the world today.
The changes to the outside are enough to turn heads anywhere in the world. Made up of composite fiberglass and carbon fiber, the skin of the GT90 is a magnificent, gleaming white. The car’s body is made up of a super strong reinforced aluminum for added safety, and the exhaust openings are protected by tiles that are much like those used on a space shuttle. If space shuttle likenesses aren’t futuristic and technologically advanced, then I don’t know what is! Also, the lights of the Ford GT90 concept car are unique in look and engineering. They are high intensity discharge headlights that have projector beam parking, turning and backing up lights included. The license plate is illuminated with a “hot” fluorescent light, while the gauge is lit up with a “cold” fluorescent light. This car also features high mount stop lights and fully ionized gas-discharged taillights. The GT90 is certainly an attention-grabbing and eye-catching piece of machinery.
If you were to open up the hood and take a look, (as I’m sure anyone would like to do!) you would see a super kinetic engine. This remarkable piece of equipment was fashioned by cutting the two front cylinders off of the Romeo V-8 engine and the two back cylinders off of the Lincoln Mark VIII and vacuum welding the two blocks together. This process formed a six liter V-12 quad turbo engine. This engine, matched up with a Ferguson five-speed racing transmission resulted in a car that will achieve 720 horsepower at 6,600 rpm and 660 pound feet of torque at 4,750 rpm.
The Ford GT90 can go from zero to sixty in only 3.1 seconds, and from zero to 100 in 6.3 seconds. Both on the outside and inside, this car is definitely the one to watch. Also, with an estimated price tag of $100,000, it is more affordable than a lot of concept cars.
