Car Loans

Car loans are a loan or loans given to the borrower by a financial institution, bank, Credit Company or even an individual. Rate of interest varies with different lenders and different schemes. When you decide on purchasing a car, gauge your financial position. If you have enough cash on hand but already paying too many other installments, think about buying the car as an outright purchase. Corvette C5

The Corvette line of cars is a sports line from the Chevrolet line. In production since 1953, the corvette has gone through numerous changes and modifications, and has resulted in an entire series of corvettes, from the C1 to the latest C7.

The Corvettes of today are built at a General Motors’ assembly plant in Kentucky, but have seen the insides of assembly units at Michigan and Missouri as well.

The Corvette C5 was something totally different from its predecessor, the C4. The C5 was based on a convertible model, as it proved much sturdier than the C4, which was coupé- based model with the roof removed. Adding to this was the hydro formed box frame. The car also featured a integrated transaxle assembly, which was rear mounted by moving the transmission to the rear end of the car. The engine wasn’t left out either. The C5 featured a new LS1 engine, initial models of which produced 345bhp, later upgraded to 350bhp.

For those models with automatic transmission, there wasn’t much change as they featured the same 4L60-E model. Manual transmission models however, saw a shift to a new Borg- Warner T-56 6-speed.

Corvette C5 also saw significant improvement in the style department, a nice change from the previous versions. It had a more graceful and elegant appearance and was more rounded.

Through the years that Chevrolet produced the Corvette C5, many different variations of it were seen. At first, in the initial year 1997, only a hatchback coupé was set on sale, followed by the 1998 release of the convertible. The Indianapolis 500 in 1998 was paced by the C5, and replicas of the Pace car were sold as well. 1999 saw the release of a hard- top C5 coupé added to the C5 lineup. The Z06, a high performance version of the hard- top version became a top- performer.

Though there were noticeable cosmetic differences between the C5s through the years, such as new colors, special editions and new wheel styles, and upgrades to engine horsepower, there were also a couple of other basic changes made such as the introduction of the Active Handling System, available as standard in models that were released after 2001, and came as an option in the 1998 models. Another such innovation is the introduction of a heads- up display, or HUD.

Factors such as the low weight of the C5, and the low drag coefficient and a proper shifting tendency led to the Corvette C5 having a far higher fuel economy than all of it’s predecessors, allowing it to escape the gas guzzler tax that all it’s predecessors had to bear.

The corvette C5 is a great car from Chevrolet, featuring a new design, which is the base for a couple of generations after the C5, and was a major improvement to the Corvette line of cars, with better aerodynamics, more fuel efficiency, and better overall performance than it’s predecessors. Some of the special editions such as the Indianapolis 500 in 1998, and the 24 hour LeMans Commemorative edition are models that have to be some of the best the line has produced.
