Car Loans

Car loans are a loan or loans given to the borrower by a financial institution, bank, Credit Company or even an individual. Rate of interest varies with different lenders and different schemes. When you decide on purchasing a car, gauge your financial position. If you have enough cash on hand but already paying too many other installments, think about buying the car as an outright purchase. This is because, your credit rating is bound to be low and thereby the interest rate offered to you will be high. Money never comes cheap. Lexus SC

The SC 430 convertible "sport" coupe may not be the best-selling model in Lexus' line, but it probably draws the most attention in traffic or parked on the street, thanks to its curvaceous styling and powered retractable hardtop. A number of minor changes for the 2006 model make this stylish little drop-top slightly sportier, although it still doesn't handle like a true sports car.

When it debuted as a 2002 model the SC 430 was a dramatic replacement for the attractive but bland SC 300 and
SC 400, even if its flabby performance was a let down to auto enthusiasts. While parent company Toyota has scaled back on its inventory of sporty coupes in recent years, the SC 430 continues its bold statement in Lexus showrooms.

In addition to the base version, two limited-production models have been added for 2006. The first is the Pebble Beach Edition. It costs $2,000 more than the base SC 430 and only 500 will be produced. This edition coordinates unique Tigereye exterior paint with a camel-colored leather interior and includes a custom luggage set that matches the car's exterior color.

The other new trim level costs $600 over the base price of the SC 430 and is called the Black Diamond Edition package. It includes "Black Diamond" paint, black "Birdseye" maple wood interior trim and a custom Tumi luggage collection.

Manufacturers of all kinds often concoct such "limited edition" models to boost interest in a vehicle at the end of its life cycle and soon to be replaced by a new version, as is the case with the SC 430.

All 2006 SC models have revised exterior styling and sportier looking wheels, which lend an aggressive and less globular appearance, if only a little. Changes are subtle and include a new front grille and bumper, several new exterior colors, as well as new LED taillights and restyled headlamps. The latter now include Lexus' Adaptive Front Lighting System, also offered on the LS 430 sedan. The headlamps automatically pivot in conjunction with steering input to help illuminate the road around curves at night.

The rear-wheel drive SC 430 continues with its muscular 4.3-liter V8, which generates a tire-burning 300 horsepower and affords neck-snapping launches and plenty of passing power. This year it's mated to a new six-speed sequential shift automatic transmission that improves acceleration and fuel economy. Revised gear ratios also help lower interior noise levels at cruising speeds.

The restyled 18-inch alloy wheels with metallic gray finish look sportier than the previous model's wheels. Z-rated performance tires are mounted and should reign in the car's lethargic handling a bit.

The standard Vehicle Skid Control helps keep the car from loosing grip. It can be switched off with the idea of allowing more aggressive handling, but the inherently lethargic chassis won't be hustled through turns.

The SC 430 remains a stylish and capable coupe/convertible that's better at boulevard cruising than fast jaunts on twisty back roads.

The cabin is attractively trimmed and well appointed. A new camel-colored leather interior includes "espresso" wood trim. A premium Mark Levinson stereo and satellite navigation system are among the SC 430's many standard amenities. Options on this loaded car are limited to a rear spoiler, run-flat tires and a few dealer installed accessories.

Aside from its lazy handling, one of the car's few other flaws is an unusable back seat. Think of it as an exquisitely upholstered cargo shelf, which you'll need because of the small trunk.
